Trial Lesson and Level Test
Can I try a lesson for free?
Yes! You can have a trial lesson without paying. Just sign up, book your lesson, and log in to your Callan Online account to join. After your trial, you can decide to continue with more lessons.
How do I know my English level?
Your teacher will check your level with a test during your free trial. This helps us understand your English skills and start teaching you at the right level.
What happens in the level test?
Your teacher will ask you questions to see how well you understand and speak English. The test begins with easy questions and gets harder. It stops when you find the questions too difficult, and then we know your level.
Do I need to prepare for the test?
Just make sure you're in a quiet place with a good internet connection, and have a device with a camera and microphone. No special preparation needed!
I don't know any English. Can I still learn with you?
Absolutely! The Callan Method is great for complete beginners. Your teacher will start with simple words and sentences. Just follow along!
I'm not happy with my level test result. What can I do?
Contact us. We can discuss your concerns and possibly retest you. Remember, Callan Method levels are about practical use, not just theory.
If I take a trial, must I buy something?
No pressure. The trial is for you to see if you like our method. You're free to decide afterward.
Teachers
Should I stick to one teacher?
We suggest you try lessons with different teachers. This helps you get used to various speaking styles and accents, which is good for real-life conversations.
Can I choose my favorite teacher for all lessons?
Yes, if you prefer certain teachers, you can book lessons with them. However, for the best learning experience, we recommend trying different teachers.
Are all your teachers native speakers?
Yes, all our teachers are native speakers of the languages they teach.
Books
How do I buy an eBook?
Log into your account, click “Buy more” in “My credits,” and you'll find eBooks under Plans on the course page.
How should I use eBooks?
Use eBooks for review between lessons. They're great for revisiting what you've learned but focus on speaking during lessons rather than reading from the eBook.
Can I print or save the eBook?
No, due to copyright laws, printing or saving eBooks is not allowed.
Money
How does the subscription plan work?
Our lessons are offered through a monthly subscription plan. This means you choose a plan and pay monthly for your lessons. Each plan has a set number of lessons you can take each month.
What happens if I miss a lesson?
If you miss a lesson, don't worry! You can use your missed lesson credit in the following month. We aim to ensure you get all the lessons you've paid for, even if your schedule changes.
How much does a lesson cost?
The cost per lesson varies depending on the subscription plan you choose. Generally, the more lessons your plan includes per month, the less you pay per lesson. For specific prices, please check our course page.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time. However, if you cancel after the month has started, you must complete the current month as there are no refunds for partial months. Your subscription will end at the conclusion of your current billing cycle.
What if I need to take a break?
Life happens, and sometimes you need to pause your learning. Let us know if you need to take a break for reasons like vacation, illness, or any other significant life event. We can adjust your subscription to accommodate your return, ensuring you won't lose access to your missed lessons.
Can I get a refund?
You can request a refund within the first 7 days of your subscription if lessons have yet to be attended. Once you've started your lessons, or if it's past the first 7 days, we focus on providing flexibility for future lessons rather than refunds. Remember, if you've started a month, you're committed to that month, but you can cancel for the next month anytime.
